When making a photobook or ZINE, the choice of paper and printing can greatly affect the way the work is experienced. That is why we wanted to create a place where you can think, experiment, and make decisions by actually printing on paper, rather than waiting until the finished piece arrives.

At the nagaya paper lab print studio, you are welcome to bring your own paper. If there is a paper you are interested in, you can make a test print on the spot and see how it works with your photographs or design, how the colors reproduce, and how the finished print feels.

With online printing services, even if you can obtain paper samples beforehand, it can still be difficult to know how photographs and colors will actually look once printed on that particular paper. Sometimes you only realize after receiving the finished prints that the colors are different from what you expected, or that the paper changes the impression of the photographs.

Here, you can quickly test different papers and continue developing your work while checking the actual results with your own eyes.

The owner is a photographer who produces his own work and photobooks, while also having professional experience working at a printing company and handling a wide range of papers and printing processes. Advice and recommendations on paper selection are also available depending on your project and intended use.

The studio is equipped with inkjet and laser printers, allowing us to accommodate a wide range of printing needs for photobooks, ZINEs, and other bookmaking projects.
