Shokuyoku no aki / l’appétit de l’automne is a 2026 artist book by Bruno Quinquet. Its title comes from the Japanese seasonal expression “shokuyoku no aki,” often used to describe autumn as a season when appetite returns and seasonal foods are enjoyed.
The book approaches an everyday Japanese phrase as a point of observation. Bringing together seasonality, bodily sensation, eating, and the particular texture of language, it reconsiders autumn through a playful and poetic lens.
By placing the familiar Japanese expression alongside the French subtitle “l’appétit de l’automne,” the work opens a space where Japanese seasonal sensibility and an outside perspective quietly meet.
