Motoyuki Daifu is a photographer born in Tokyo in 1985. Taking his own family and close personal relationships as his subjects, he has photographed private living spaces as snapshots marked by vivid color.
Lovesody is a photobook collecting Daifu’s early work, published by Little Big Man Books in 2012. The series was photographed over a period of about six months, documenting the relationship that developed between a young mother, her two children, and the artist himself.
Through interiors and scenes from everyday life, the book records the shifting dynamics of intimacy, romance, care, dependency, and distance within the same space. Including Daifu’s own changing position—as a lover, a parent-like figure, or at times someone closer to a child—the work captures a period of time in which relationships continue without becoming fixed.
