Wolfgang Tillmans is a German photographer and artist born in 1968. Moving across portraiture, still life, landscapes, abstract works, and installations, he is highly regarded as one of the leading figures in contemporary photography since the 1990s.
This book is the fifth volume in the Wako Book series, published in conjunction with Affinity, Wolfgang Tillmans’s solo exhibition held at Wako Works of Art in 2014. Edited and designed by the artist himself, it is an artist’s book closely connected to the exhibition.
By rearranging the photographs in a form distinct from the exhibition space, the book quietly brings out the relationships between images, the presence of margins, and the flow of time. It also reflects Tillmans’s strong awareness of photobooks and printed matter within his broader artistic practice.
